Sergeant James Casey Joyce was a Ranger from Plano, Texas, killed on the Lost Convoy during the Battle of Mogadishu. He was 24 years old. His Bronze Star with Valor Device recognizes the courage he displayed in the face of overwhelming enemy fire. Joyce embodied the Ranger spirit — disciplined, courageous, and committed to his brothers in arms. His name is spoken aloud at his Queenslake memorial station each October, ensuring his sacrifice is never forgotten.
