Kowalewski

Corporal Richard Kowalewski was just 20 years old when he was killed by RPG fire on the Lost Convoy. From Crucible, Pennsylvania, he was among the youngest of the 19 heroes. His Bronze Star with Valor Device honors the extraordinary courage he showed at such a young age. Richard Kowalewski's memorial at Queenslake is a reminder that the youngest among us are often the bravest — and that their sacrifice deserves to be remembered for generations.
